Project Description
The Seoul Children's Hospital has been serving young patients with cancer for over 30 years, but our pediatric oncology wing desperately needs modernization. The current facilities, built in 1994, lack the child-friendly environment that can significantly improve treatment outcomes and emotional wellbeing.
We are raising funds to completely renovate the 4th floor cancer wing, which serves over 200 children annually. The renovation will include:
- Creating bright, themed treatment rooms with natural lighting and cheerful murals
- Installing state-of-the-art air filtration systems to reduce infection risks
- Building a dedicated play therapy room where children can engage in normal activities
- Upgrading patient rooms with comfortable family sleeping areas
- Adding a rooftop healing garden for patients and families
Studies show that healing environments can reduce anxiety, improve sleep quality, and even enhance treatment effectiveness. Our young patients spend months in treatment, and they deserve a space that feels less like a clinical facility and more like a place where hope thrives.
The construction team is ready to begin as soon as we reach our funding goal. The renovation will take approximately 6 months, with temporary arrangements made to continue patient care without interruption.
"When my daughter was diagnosed with leukemia at age 7, the hospital became our second home. A warm, comforting environment made such a difference during the hardest time of our lives." - Parent
Your donation will directly transform the healing journey for hundreds of children battling cancer. Every contribution brings us closer to creating a space where young fighters can focus on getting better, surrounded by brightness and hope.
